Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds. The only difference between natural diamonds and lab-grown diamonds is that one is grown in the earth and the other is grown in a laboratory. Both diamonds have exactly the same chemical makeup and are indistinguishable from the naked eye.
In terms of the financial side, lab-grown diamonds have very little resale. Jewellers tend not to buy back lab-grown diamonds from patrons because they are easier to source than natural diamonds. In reality, all diamonds dramatically drop in value the second you buy them. However, when you buy a diamond you shouldn't be thinking about the resale value. Diamonds are about marking a special occasion with a piece of jewellery that will last a lifetime and commemorate commitment.
